QIS is a client server application, continuously developed since1986 using the latest
methodologies and designed to run on industry standard PC networks. It is fully
user configurable requiring no programming knowledge and runs “straight out of the
box”. Full project management, product training and on-going 24 x 7 support is provided.
This means rapid implementation, low total cost of ownership and swift delivery
of business benefits.
QIS V6
QIS is a 32-bit Microsoft Windows software written in C++ and uses Microsoft SQL
Server 2000 or above databases.
As well as adding many new features for the front-end user we have also invested
heavily to provide a robust and secure system that requires the minimum of maintenance.
QISv6 is designed to run 24x7 often across challenging multi-site international
networks. Utilising a MS SQL database, QIS processes large volumes of data very
efficiently to deliver the right information at the right time.
New in QISv6 is the Auto update module that checks for any new QISv6 updates and
automatically deploys them to your system. This frees up valuable time for the IT
administrator and ensures the user is always kept up to date with any new features.
The new ProcessLink Interface console manager simplifies the management of interfaces
to external systems. Any problems are quickly pinpointed and resolved through the
comprehensive log files and fault identification system.
With vast experience of interfacing to a variety of process and business systems,
QIS pulls together all the data you need in order to report, act and improve your
process operations.
ProcessLink
ProcessLink is the QIS interface management system that controls the device drivers
that link QIS to a variety of external data sources. With ProcessLink users can
transfer data between QIS and other systems such as process control and business
systems. It is designed to run attended on any network station or Server and typically
connects to the source systems via network or serial connections.
LabLink
LabLink is the QIS bench instrument interface solution for laboratories. LabLink
comprises Operator Interface Units that connect the instrument with a bar code reader
or simple terminal that the operator uses to identify the source of sample being
tested. A multi-drop RS485 network is then used to connect the OIUs to the PC that
is hosting the LabLink software. One OIU is required per instrument and one master
unit is required per network. LabLink software runs as a background task on the
PC so that it can be used for QIS or any other application software at the same
time.
SRM
MQM V2.0 provides a solution for formalised recording of all materials, suppliers
and appropriate approvals, deliveries of materials and associated quality data whether
originating from the supplier by way of Certificates of Analysis or from sample
testing on receipt. Once data for a delivery is entered immediate analysis is possible
comparing the latest results to specification and against supply history, supporting
vital decisions on release to production.
Food manufacturers, processors and packers can save money and still ensure total
compliance with weights and measure legislation. System operation is based on Department
of Trade and Industry guidelines as given in the Packer's and Inspector's Guides.
Sample weight data collected automatically or by manually weighing and keying, over
a period determined by production rate or local demands. Analysis gives the grand
average for the period and standard deviation. These are presented graphically with
values plotted against target profiles so that any variance from the required performance
is highlighted, logged and reported to the operator. A full history of each period
is maintained recording alarms, actions and conformance. Several reporting options
allow performance to be assessed over the short to long term. CheckWeigh is compatible
with all on-line checkweighers. The system is easy to install and can accommodate
multi-drop networks using a noise resistant cable system.
QR2
QR2 is a Total Reel and Roll Quality System that meets a mill’s needs in the areas
of customer service, product and production improvements, and in satisfying ISO9000
quality procedure requirements. It is a standards-based system that is easy to use
and maintain, yet adaptable to the unique needs of a mill. Its modular design logically
layers in functionality to accommodate work flow, lab test procedures, and data
access needs unique to your operation.
QR2 integrates all quality data with QIS customer specifications to facilitate quick,
accurate product quality decisions. With immediate access to current and historical
data, quality analysis and reporting becomes a real-time function. With the timely,
innovative methods for data presentation, real-time resolution of quality issues
becomes the norm.
Server
A minimum server configuration would be a Pentium 1Ghz processor, 512Mb RAM and
a 4Gb SCSI data drive.
Client
A typical QIS Client PC would have a Pentium 400Mhz processor, 128Mb RAM and minimum
XGA Graphics (1024 x 768) capability with a 17-inch monitor, running Windows NT
Workstation 4, Windows 2000. QIS can also be run in thin client environments such
as Windows Terminal Server and Citrix Metaframe. Where clients are installed in
a hostile or dirty environment the use of rugged industrial PCs is recommended.
Where it is impractical to position or connect a client to the network, handheld
devices can be used that upload data to QIS.
Database
The QIS database is industry standard using MSSQL 2000 or above, protected from
unauthorised access and change but readily available for query from other applications
through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC). This means QIS data is accessible directly
to most Microsoft Office applications, Report Writers, etc.
Support
QIS 24x7 support is usually conducted through remote dial-in. Typically, a password
protected RAS or PcAnywhere™ connection is configured for QiSOFT support.
Deployment
QIS is ready out of the box and requires no programming to unleash the operational
and analytical power within. Did we say you don’t have to write the first line of
code…no Visual Basic, no Visual C++, no VBA, no code writing at all? This means
you save money because there is no code to support!
